We live constrained lives, bound to the world and each other. Pulled and stretched in different directions, we're caught between responsibilities and desires. Surrounded and intertwined with each other and the world around us, we live a tangled tension. Bound generates palettes from the natural world by making random selections from Werner's Nomenclature of Colors, a book first published in 1814 that served as a classification guide before photography became commonplace and used by Charles Darwin during voyages on the HMS Beagle.
In live view, the number keys 1-3 can be pressed to see the output in 'bench mode', in reference to the bench that provided the initial inspiration for the work. The 'c' key can also be pressed to see which Werner's Nomenclature of Colors were used.
